Electrolux, a Swedish appliance company, obtained the Zero Waste to Landfill Certification (Zero Waste to Landfill) awarded by Intertek, a global company whose audit demonstrated that Electrolux recycles or reuses 99.1% of its waste and only sends 0.9% to Landfill (landfill).
“Landfill space is increasingly limited and companies have the obligation to manufacture responsibly and cleanly,” said Mariano Noguerón, Manufacturing Director of Electrolux.
This new certification from Intertek adds to other recognitions obtained by the Rosario plant, such as the ISO 50,001 and 14,001 certification, which guarantees that Electrolux is a sustainable and environmentally friendly company, and the Platinum Certification of the internal Green Spirit program, one of Electrolux's Sustainability programs to reduce emissions, promote the rational use of water, reduce energy consumption and migrate towards clean energy.
This milestone means another step for Electrolux, which within the framework of the Better Living Program (a global initiative that was born in 2019 and has sustainability goals projected for 2030) seeks to become a Climate Neutral company. “At Electrolux we dedicate investment, time and effort to the development and implementation of more sustainable programs and policies because our most important commitment is to become a Climate Neutral company,” mentioned Noguerón.
