Supported by their status as essential products, the refrigerator market maintains an expectation of recovery for the season. This is influenced by financing, now with a greater number of installments and more accessible to consumers.

Sergio Doldan, President of CAIRAA and Commercial Director of Autosal, maintained that this is a year of economic crisis in which, due to all the variables that have changed since December, purchasing power fell and, consequently, the sale of these products also fell. “We are talking about falls of up to 50% in the first half,” he added. "Usually, when these types of conditions occur, people renew their refrigerators out of necessity, rather than because of a planned renovation. Low-priced refrigerators are mostly being sold, because categories like No Frost, which are more expensive refrigerators than their cyclical counterparts, tend to gain more strength in good times."

“This year we expect a market drop of around 25%, logical given the general situation of the economy but less than what is expected in other categories,” said Maximiliano Signorelli from Hisense when analyzing the refrigeration market.

“We focus on the premium segment, where we differentiate ourselves by design and also by product specifications,” he added. "This year we have 6 models of refrigerators and a plan, from today until 2025, to develop 15 products. We work with the vision of democratizing access to technology and, with that concept, starting in September we will be presenting a single door refrigerator with a capacity of 179 liters, an entry-level product, designed for an audience made up of young people, who are probably starting to live alone and need a refrigerator that is not so sophisticated but with a good design, in black and, as a different functionality in this type of product, the water dispenser.

Regarding the market, Signorelli highlighted that a reactivation was noted in the HotSale and also during the post-Hot Sale, helped by the drop in interest rates and the increase in the number of installments. “This means that the fall is smaller and that we have a good vision of the future for this category,” he concluded.

Drean highlights the following refrigerators within its product line: HDR280F00B, with energy efficiency A, R600a ecological gas and adjustable shelves; HDR320F00N in Black Steel color, with anti-fingerprint technology and XXL freezer; HDR320F00S, aluminum gray color, with gross capacity of 314 liters and controlled opening of the doors at 120°; HDR370F00B, 364 liters with double drawer for fruits and vegetables and LED interior light; HDR370F11S with 2 liter dispenser, R600a ecological gas and double drawer for fruits and vegetables; HDR400F00S, 397 liters gross capacity, with tempered glass shelves and Cycle Defrost technology; HDR400F11N, in black steel color with XXL freezer and 2-liter dispenser and the HDR400F11S, with a gross capacity of 396 liters, double drawer for fruits and vegetables and 2-liter dispenser.

KANJIHOME

FAG Sistems acquired the manufacturing and distribution of the Telefunken brand for white goods and cold. The company highlighted its very good penetration and recall and with that endorsement they developed the new products.

They are already incorporating two displays of 330 and 395 liters with glass doors and shelves; 50-liter minibars in two colors; 90-liter undercounter refrigerators with interior light, vegetable drawer and glass shelves; an under-counter refrigerator with a 140-liter freezer with temperature regulator and two-door refrigerators with a 220, 260 and 300-liter freezer, models that come in white, gray and black with glass shelves, manual defroster and internal condenser. To this line they added the 50 and 120 liter well freezers with a basket and a 150 liter display.

“The products are close to being distributed,” the company confirmed. “We are going to offer quality and a good price, a policy that has meant that we have not lost sales in units in these months and we already have a 5% share of the shelves.”

Philco

Philco offers two under-counter refrigerators of 70 and 132 liters with removable tempered glass shelves, side shelves, rapid cold section, R600a gas, vegetable drawer and efficiency A. The 132-liter one has a silver version.

The Combi Inox Estética 2021 is a cyclic refrigerator with capacities of 340 and 360 liters, LED light, removable tempered glass shelves, vegetable drawer, side shelves, adjustable thermostat, R600a gas and efficiency A. The 340-liter one has a Bio Care system and a lower freezer with three drawers.

Vondom added to its no-frost refrigerator and freezer combos the Side by Side refrigerators, models with minimalist design, stainless steel and state-of-the-art technology that provides constant cold throughout the equipment.

The SBS605 Inverter has a capacity of 605 liters, an ice and water dispenser that is fed by an off-grid tank and a home bar that allows you to easily remove the drink without having to open the door. There is a black stainless steel version without home bar. Freezers ensure optimal food conservation with drawers that maintain order and provide good visibility.

The FR140, unique on the market with a capacity of 179 liters and no-frost technology, has 3 drawers and 2 shelves.

The brand's offering is completed by 46 and 72 liter minibars in black or stainless steel. The RFG170N reaches up to 0ºC. They also renewed the design of the 18 and 28 bottle cellar with the Acero line, which now comes with wooden shelves.

Briquette

Briket offers single-chill refrigerators with capacities of 125 and 290 liters; classification A class Tropical and colors white, gray, black and red. The two-cold line includes two models of 257 and 290 liters with A classification and 4-star Tropical class. In the same series of 2 cold ones there are 322 liter A+ models; 350 liters A; 350 liters and 350 liters Inverter A++ and 492 liters A+, all three 4-star Tropical class with tempered glass shelves. The 492 liter one has a Premium Inverter A++ version with LED light and digital controls; similar stainless steel, white and black versions; 146 liter freezer and 346 in the refrigerator. In any case, that first recovery found us out of season, but it allows the industry to have a different outlook going forward than the one we had in January and February."

Regarding the lawsuit, D'Andrea maintained that there is always an audience for all products. “There are those who look for size, others for design or price and there is also a segment that can pay a higher price,” he added. "The consumer has acquired a level of demand that allows there to be a market for all types of products. There is always a higher demand for mass products, but there are also niches and at Briket we try to attack them with the focus on where we can differentiate ourselves, by technology, design or color. Regarding the next season, D'Andrea maintained that "everything that helps rise from that 50% drop floor at the beginning of this year, is going to be an achievement."
