The investment announcement was made during the visit of the President of the Nation, Alberto Fernández, to the industrial center that BGH has in the Buenos Aires town of Carlos Spegazzini.
The production of the equipment will be destined for the Juana Manso Federal Plan and the consumer market.
With the presence of the President of the Nation, Alberto Fernández, the BGH Group announced an investment of more than one million dollars for the production of computers on the property that the company has in the town of Carlos Spegazzini, Ezeiza district, province of Buenos Aires.
The Positivo BGH computers are intended for the Juana Manso Plan, a program launched by the National Government to strengthen connectivity and educational inclusion in public schools throughout the country, and also to supply the domestic consumer market.
"This investment represents a new commitment to the national industry, to contribute to the substitution of imports and also to the improvement of the country's balance of payments. At the same time, we add quality employment and reinforce BGH's commitment to bridging the digital divide by providing technology to bring the new generations of Argentines closer to the future," said Marcelo Girotti, CEO of the BGH Group.
The investment announcement event was also attended by the Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof; the Minister of National Education, Nicolás Trotta; and the Mayor of the Ezeiza Party, Alejandro Granados, in addition to more than 10 Buenos Aires mayors.
For this project in Spegazzini, the BGH Group will hire 100 people who will join the 150 current employees. They will work in three shifts and will manufacture around 50,000 computers per month of the Positivo BGH brand, the joint venture between BGH and Positivo of Brazil, with 11, 14 and 15-inch screens and state-of-the-art components. Production of the equipment will begin at the end of July.
Juana Manso is a Federal Plan of the Ministry of Education that covers connectivity, equipment, a proposal for teacher education and training, and a federal educational platform with free and secure navigation for the educational system of Argentina. This platform allows students and teachers to be linked through free virtual classrooms with multimedia content.
To carry out this initiative, the company's experience is key. Since 2011, Positivo BGH is dedicated to the marketing, distribution and technical service of computer products with a wide range of quality equipment for different market segments.
During its first years, Positivo BGH managed to position itself as a leading sales company in the computer market in Argentina and also in Uruguay. In 2014 it set up its own plant in Rwanda and in 2016 in Kenya, where it introduced computers for the education sector.
The company will add three automatic production lines, palletizing and tracking control systems for the components placed in each piece of equipment, processes certified by the international standard ISO 9001:2015, which regulates Quality Management Systems.
The investment in the industrial complex also contemplates the national production of an entire line of BGH electric ovens of 25, 30, 40 and 55 liters, thus guaranteeing the supply of the local market with Argentine products and contributing to the substitution of imports.
On the other hand, all after-sales associated with the Positivo BGH brand are also carried out in the same center and it has a laboratory where the equipment inspection and testing processes are carried out to improve them.
The Carlos Spegazzini distribution center also carries out the logistics operation and distribution to customers throughout the country. It has an area of 25 thousand square meters, in line with the highest demands in terms of construction quality, safety and the environment.
