The company seeks increase its productive capacity at the national level and develop the export profile of the Argentine subsidiary.
Whirlpool invests 40 million dollars in the opening of a new 30,000m2 plant in the town of Fátima, Partido de Pilar, which would generate 1,000 direct and indirect jobs and strengthen the chain of suppliers and industrial partners.
In this plant, high-capacity front-loading washing machines will be manufactured that will complement the company's production and supply in Latin America. The planned production capacity is 300,000 units per year, of which 70% will be exported to countries in the region and the remaining 30% will supply the local market.
In turn, it will be the brand's most modern factory in Latin America and will have implementation of World Class Manufacturing standards, with a focus on sustainable operations, products and practices, and on saving natural resources and reducing greenhouse gases (GHG).
The work, which began 7 months ago, is in phase 2 of 3 and is expected to begin operating in the third quarter of 2022. "The work is progressing as we planned. This investment marks a very important step in the industrialization process of the company in Argentina.
