Vacuum cleaners: robotic and traditional
Robots are new, but traditional ones maintain the largest market volume.

Although robots are the new and most attractive thing on the market, volume is still captured by sleds and, within that segment, bagless models. There is a wide range of products for a stable and mostly replacement market.
Liliana
Within its line of vacuum cleaners, Liliana highlights the Dual Aspistick 2 in 1 as a handheld vacuum cleaner. It has a cyclonic system with 360° rotation; corner accessory for vacuuming floors, upholstery and curtains; visual tank full indicator and HEPA filter, which filters mites, pollen, bacteria and smoke particles and prevents allergies and other types of diseases. Powerclean and AllClean also have this function.
The different products clean both carpets and wooden floors thanks to their dual brush, accessing corners and upholstery. For these needs other options are the Compacty and the Climpy. The Aquaterra Plus sucks up liquids and has a blowing option; Barrel with three plastic sections, rotating wheels and automatic cut-off when the container is filled.

ATMA
According to Carina Salarín, product manager, Newsan reached more than 22 share points after completely renewing its proposal in vacuum cleaners and growing 10 points in the last year. From having only models with and without a bag, one wireless and one hand-held, with the Atma brand, they consolidated the offer of robot vacuum cleaners and this year, in addition to renewing the entire line incorporating features, technology and more power, they included bagless models and models with a washable and reusable cloth bag. They also reformulated the brand image and plan, by 2023, to renew the segment again with the robot vacuum cleaner with mop as the basic model.
Atma offers the X-Treme Power AS9021PI vacuum cleaner with cyclonic vacuum system; power of 2000 watts; 1.5 liter capacity; power regulator; HEPA filter; automatic cable winder; 5 meter cable; metal telescopic tube; air flow regulator on the handle; nozzle for upholstery and corners and round multifunction brush.
The Ultra Power AS9121PI, with a power of 2000 watts, has a cloth bag with a capacity of 2 liters; power regulator; automatic cable winder; 5 meter cable; metal telescopic tube; air flow regulator on the handle; nozzle for upholstery and corners and round multifunction brush.

Smartlife
Smartlife's portfolio covers four types of vacuum cleaners: bagged, bagless, wireless 2-in-1 and the SL-RVC013 robots, with sweeping and mopping function, and SL-RVC240 with sweeping function. They are compact, 7 centimeters high, 3 suction levels: silent, normal and strong and 4 cleaning modes: automatic, edges, spot and manual. They are autonomous, programmable and can be used through an app. Their anti-collision and anti-fall sensors allow them to operate near unevenness or raised floors and include self-charging that takes them to their charging base automatically.
The SL-RVC013 has a gyroscope that helps recognize environments and move more efficiently. They include remote control, charging base, extra brush set, cleaning brush and the top-of-the-range model comes with a spare mop.

How do you see the market, in general?
Although the robot vacuum cleaner was the boom during the pandemic and the segment that grew the most last year, with an increase in supply and volume, the sleds continue to be the most sought after system, with more than 60% of the market volume, where the best-selling models are the cyclonic ones. What we call trash cans, which can vacuum liquids and solids, occupy approximately 20%, a significant volume compared to almost 10% for robots. There are other segments, such as handheld and 2-in-1 wireless, which have 5% of the market each.What does the consumer demand?
The consumer is increasingly looking for more technology and better features. We see this in robot vacuum cleaners, which originally only vacuumed and now include functions such as mopping and mapping the house to schedule the type of cleaning. At a global level, the model that works best is the one that included the mapping application and the identification of obstacles with sensors and also with cameras.”Is it a market that leaves room to continue incorporating new developments?
I believe that in all segments there are possibilities for innovation. The number of single people and families with pets increased greatly and vacuum cleaners appeared with accessories that in these cases improve the cleaning of the house. The Predicta vacuum cleaner, for example, has a special brush with bristles that, being silicone, lift pet hair much better, something that is very important for allergy sufferers.”
Black+Decker
Black + Decker has two vacuum cleaners on the market. The VCBD1800-AR Power Pro has a 2-liter tank; removable filter for easy cleaning; power of 1800 watts; powerful suction cyclone system without interruptions; retractable cable; 2-in-1 floor and carpet brush; 2 extension tubes; flexible swivel hose; corner brush and washable cloth bag. The VCBD1600-AR Power Pro has the same features but with a power of 1600 watts.
