Once a year, industry and retail meet at the country's main B2B event. But what happens in Buenos Aires during those three days goes far beyond business, commercial links and opportunities: it is also the time when the sector can show its reality and pose its challenges.

In this framework, Electronics & Home became the stage chosen to present the exclusive NielsenIQ report “Home Appliances 2026: volume falls, but TVs, Appliances and Small Appliances grow.” The press conference brought together specialized journalists and market leaders to obtain a current overview of consumption and the main trends in the sector. Their data gave rise to articles and had repercussions in the country's main media.

In addition to being the largest multi-sector fair in the country, Electronics & Home is positioned as the stage for the presentation of exclusive data that contributes to the reality of the sector gaining space on the media agenda and in public opinion, in the run-up to the second semester.

Appliances 2026: volume falls, but TVs, Appliances and Small Electro grow

According to NielsenIQ, in the accumulated period until May 2026, the Argentine household appliance market registers a 3% drop in units. The data reflects a more selective consumption dynamic with concentration in key categories.

Argentina, June 2026. Within the framework of Electronics Home 2026, NielsenIQ presented the main trends in the Argentine home appliance market, with accumulated data as of May 2026. The analysis shows a market that continues to go through a recomposition process: where units sold fall 3% compared to the previous year.

The monthly reading also shows an improvement in performance towards May, where the drop was 2%, slowing down compared to previous months, as a result of the HotSale and prior to the World Cup.

When analyzing the market by sectors, disparate behavior is observed. Telecom y Air conditioning show relevant falls, with drops of 25% in, while MDA/White Line y SDA/ Small Electro, maintains a positive performance, with growth of 7. In turn, CE/Brown Line stands out for the advance in billing, despite growing only 3% in units, which reflects a greater weight of the average ticket, a product of consumer preference, prior to the world cup, towards high-inch TVs, more than 55. IT, shows positive results, although below the sectors with growth, with a variation of 1% in units.

The report also indicates a high concentration by categories. In units, the top 10 categories explain the 51.6% of market sales. Los smartphones They lead the ranking, with 13% participation, although they register a 27% drop in units. They follow them PTV/televisions, with 7% participation and a growth of 27%, and headsets, also with 7%, although with a decrease of 16%.

In billing, the concentration is even greater: the top 10 categories represent the 75.8% of the total market value. Again, the smartphones They occupy first place, with 20% participation. Secondly, there are PTV/televisions, with 15% participation. They are also among the most relevant categories refrigerators, washing machine, air conditioners, notebooks, kitchens, fans, consoles y hot water.

Another of the relevant data that NielsenIQ will present is the evolution of the online channel. In the accumulated to May, the participation of online in units went from 55% in 2025 to 58% in 2026, consolidating its role as a central channel for the purchase of appliances and technology. In May 2026, where the HotSale happened, the channel reached a monthly share of 61%.

"The data show a market that still faces challenges in terms of volume, although categories such as TV manage to take advantage of the context and grow 27%. The strength of certain categories and the advancement of the online channel are key to understanding the current dynamics of the sector," he noted. Miracles Bin, Leader of Customer Success Retail Vertical NIQ Argentina.
