The Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, received Leandro Jasiocha, new General Manager for Latin America of the Swedish home appliance firm Electrolux, at the Treasury Palace. During the work meeting they discussed the company's investments to expand/improve production in the country, with the aim of supplying the local and regional market.

In this sense, in addition to providing details to Minister Massa about the company's operations in Argentina, Jasiocha presented the investments made, ongoing and projected for the next five years, which are aimed at turning the country into a supply center for the region, guaranteeing the sustainability of its operations, increasing the efficiency of household appliances in energy terms, improving IT processes within the company, expanding online sales and customer service services, as well as the incorporation of new products to the Gafa line. the best-selling in the country. According to the firm's estimates, all of these operations will result in the creation of new jobs, both direct and indirect, along with an expansion of exports to the region, mainly of refrigerators and washing machines.

In turn, they discussed the importance of credit stimulus programs to promote the production of household appliances in the country and to facilitate access to durable goods for all segments of Argentine society. Minister Massa also made the Ministry's work teams available to help the firm continue with its strategy of searching/developing local suppliers, especially SMEs, to supply its operations in the country.

Jasiocha was accompanied by Marcela Romero, General Manager for Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia, Rodrigo Salamoni, Director of Business Development for Latin America, and Anders Carlsson, Ambassador of Sweden in Argentina.

Electrolux has been manufacturing household appliances at its plant in Rosario, Santa Fe, for more than 25 years. It currently employs 840 people and has prospects for continued growth. The plant mainly produces products from the Electrolux and Gafa brands, the latter representing 70% of sales. They mainly manufacture refrigerators, freezers, washing machines and stoves, exceeding 500 thousand units in 2022.
