We are living a great moment in the history of humanity by witnessing and going through theThe fourth industrial revolution with the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), a technology comparable to the appearance of the wheel, the printing press, the steam engine and computing. Experts in the field, such as Stanford University, say that AI will cross and transform all types of industries, as well as public and private organizations, health, education, security, the military field, or simply entertainment, as the great inventions of the past did.

Advances in algorithms and the interpretation of human language allowed the promotion and development of this technology. AI began to take shape in the 1940s, with its first results being the development of weather forecasts in the 1950s, natural language in the 1960s, and robotics and GPS in the 1970s.

But what is AI? We can define it as a software (program, model) installed on a computer (hardware) that has the capacity to process a large volume of data and reach results that can be estimates (projections), texts, drawings, videos, or decision making for robotic actions. This capacity is what is called Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The most common classification used is the one that divides AI into:

Generative Intelligence: which through an instruction (prompt) can generate text, image, audio, video or code. As an example, we can cite questions on different topics, summarize a PDF file, convert audio into text, create a musical jingle, design a video, a cell phone application or a web page.

Predictive Intelligence: It is the one that can process large volumes of data to make estimates, projections and decision making (in robotics). Examples include Google Maps, Waze, autonomous cars, customer stratification, medical diagnoses, and robotics, among others.

This is why, by facilitating human tasks, AI has been demonstrating great innovative capacity. According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), can lead the first companies that adopt it to a significant increase in productivity, similar to what happened with the appearance of electronic commerce and the first companies and institutions that incorporated it.
