To commemorate the 50th anniversary of its first watch, CASIO announced the launch of a limited edition of the TRN-50 model that recreates the original CASIOTRONl, the world's first line of digital watches that added the automatic calendar function for the first time.

Only 4,000 pieces of the new 2024 edition will be available worldwide (and there will be 10 in Argentina) recreating the original style and format but with the addition of new functionalities such as: high contrast LCD screen, Bluetooth and a solar charging system.

When CASIO introduced the CASIOTRON to the market in 1974, it quickly exceeded expectations of what was expected of a digital wristwatch and became a pioneering device. For the first time, the automatic calendar function was included, a complete innovation developed for calculators and applied to watches. The CASIOTRON QW02 not only displayed the time but also the correct month, date and day of the week with an autonomous adjustment that eliminates the need to calibrate the watch each month.

The new anniversary edition model remains faithful to the original Japanese design with a meticulous recreation that meets today's highest quality standards and incorporates unmistakable details of the QW02 model: its size, the sophisticated textures of the case and strap, the dark blue dial and the traditional CASIOTRON logo on the front.

At the same time, it incorporated half a century of advances in the development of CASIO watchmaking with cutting-edge technology that includes radio-controlled time setting, solar charging and smartphone pairing functions.

The vision of the original CASIOTRON lives on in the new TRN-50 with attributes that include automatic updating of time zone/world time information. Special details worthy of this limited edition watch include the original case back design with its engraved serial number and a special made from recycled paper materials to reduce environmental impact.
