Carrefour opened its new distribution center

The French supermarket chain inaugurated a new distribution center in Tortuguitas, in the Buenos Aires party of Malvinas Argentinas.

The space has more than 15 thousand square meters, its construction implied an investment of 170 million pesos and enabled more than 90 jobs. Also, this initiative is carried out in the year when the company turns 40 operating in the country.

According to Pablo Lorenzo, president of Carrefour Argentina, this new center allows Retailer to expand and offer better proposals. The Site has an ability to receive 50 suppliers and dispatch between 20 and 30 trucks per day, in a scenario in which logistics became a central theme for retail trade.

Meanwhile, the Executive explained that the center has illustration with energy efficiency and recycled racks, in line with the company's sustainable strategy in Argentina and in the rest of the world.

In addition, the new distribution center incorporates Voice Picking technology, a tool that guides collaborators in the orders preparation process through auditory commands. Thanks to this innovation, people can use both hands in the order assembly process thus increasing productivity, improving operation and reducing errors, as well as the possibility of operating a multi -store order of up to three branches at the same time.

In this way, all the safety tasks and functions that the space has are digitized through an application, which sends the reports to the different work terminals where the company authorities are.

Noelia Correa, municipal mayor of Malvinas Argentinas participated in the inauguration, who attended accompanied by the Secretary of Production, Industry and Environment, Mauro López Osornio and the Undersecretary of Urban Development, Control and Administration, Gerardo Quinteros.
