Samsung Electronics announced a major restructuring and new direction for the next stage of development and to strengthen its competitiveness.

Part of this restructuring includes the mobile and consumer electronics divisions being unified into a single area (SET) that will be led by Han Jong-See, who will also be vice president of the company.

The merger of the two business divisions in SET would be aimed at facilitating the creation of differentiated products and services focused on the customer experience at a time of high global competitiveness, which could be reflected in the success of the Galaxy folding phones but still far from the average consumption level, where other brands aim to position themselves.
