LG: From Borges to the screen, the journey of literature towards a new imagination

Within the framework of the exhibition “Borges: echoes of a name”, LG and the Recoleta Cultural Center summoned the writer and researcher Martín Hadis to explore the work of Borges and reflect on how literature, art and imagination are transformed when encountering new technologies.

What new echoes can literature have when it leaves the page and begins to inhabit the screens? That was the question that went through “Echoes of a new imagination: from literature to screens”, an experience that LG promoted together with the Recoleta Cultural Center within the framework of the exhibition “Borges: echoes of a name”.

The proposal was led by Martín Hadis, writer, researcher and specialist in the work of Jorge Luis Borges, who accompanied the public on a tour of the exhibition and opened a conversation about literature, imagination, technology and new forms of representation.

With the LG OLED TVs as an organic part of the experience, the meeting proposed to think about how ideas and stories were traveling from the page to new media and languages, and how today screens, new technologies and artificial intelligence are transforming our way of creating, interpreting and experiencing a work.

"At LG we believe that technology makes sense when it can open new possibilities for people and culture. Our televisions are not just screens: they can become portals to experiences that invite us to reflect, participate and discover new forms of expression. Supporting a proposal like this, around the work of Borges, is a way to continue bringing our vision of innovation to the territory of art and culture"said Enrique Laffue, CEO of LG Electronics Argentina.

During the opening, Hadis also highlighted the value of a technology company accompanying these types of initiatives and betting on generating new encounters between literature, art and technology:
"At a time when literature seems to move further and further away from paper, it is very valuable that there are brands like LG that bet and invest in art and literature, and that make it possible for these works to also find a place on screens. Technology can be a new space for culture to continue finding ways to reach people“said Martín Hadis.

The experience functioned as an extension of the questions posed by “Borges: echoes of a name”, but also as a look forward: a journey from the book to the screen, from the traditional medium towards new ways of experiencing a work and from literature towards the new territories of the imagination.
The presence of LG OLED was naturally integrated into this conceptual journey: screens stopped being solely a technological support to become part of the conversation about how works, ideas and culture find new forms of representation.

This way, LG reaffirms its commitment to supporting meeting spaces between technology, art and culture, understanding innovation not only as a tool to transform everyday experience, but also as a possibility to open new paths to the imagination.

“Borges: echoes of a name” can be visited until August 30 at the Recoleta Cultural Center.
