From the hand of the Libson Group, its new owner, the Neba Flash Factory will open its doors again on March 2 in Catamarca, under the name of Nueva Neba.
After being without activity for eight months, the plant will receive an investment of 185 million pesos in the next two years, to operate again.
An initial production of 45 thousand units annually is estimated between ice cream makers and freezers, although the objective is to reach 85 thousand in 2021.
The products will be marketed mainly in stists of appliances and retail chains throughout the country.
"Prioritizing the national industry and with affordable prices, we will launch new models betting on innovation, quality, design and low consumption," said Cristian Alfaro, commercial director of the company.
"In this new stage, we also set out to reestablish the relationship with all market channels, as well as preserve jobs and grow rapidly as a fundamental part for the development of Nueva Neba," he added.
It is estimated that the annual frost production in Argentina is around 950 thousand units and 200 thousand that of Freezers.
The replacement of these products usually occurs every 10 years and 40 percent of the market corresponds to the entrance segment, with prices between 25 thousand and 38 thousand pesos.
"From the Libson group, we decided to bet on Nueva Neba since we trust the value of the brand and even more on the attributes of its products that are based on durability and reach for the whole family. We are convinced that we will quickly achieve the plant, to work the plant, to its maximum productive capacity. We will constantly invest in working capital and technology seeking to recover the regional and national industry," Alfaro added.
Libson manufactures white line (ice cream makers, freezers and materials) for sales points, such as supermarkets and warehouses.
It has four industrial plants (including the one that has just added in Catamarca), 450 employees and projects to close this year with a turnover of 2.4 billion pesos.
In addition to Catamarca, Neba also had a plant in Córdoba decades ago.
